Privacy Policy
The short versionWe collect what we need to send you your order and, if you asked for it, our newsletter. We do not sell your information. You can ask to see, correct, export or delete what we hold at any time by emailing us.
Who we are
Missed Monday (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a sole proprietorship operated by Melisa Ames, 3916 N Potsdam Ave, Apt 2432, Sioux Falls, SD 57104, United States, and operates missedmonday.com. We are the data controller for the information described here. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit or shop with us, and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Order and checkout information — name, email, shipping address, and payment details, processed securely through WooCommerce and our payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details ourselves.
- Email newsletter — if you sign up for the Missed Monday letter on this site, your email is kept in our own private list and used only to send the letter. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address.
- Contact form — name, email, optional phone number and your message, stored on our site and emailed to us so we can reply.
- Account — if you create an account, we store your name, email, addresses and order history; you can ask us to delete the account at any time.
- Site analytics — we use Jetpack Stats to understand how visitors use the site, including pages viewed and general location (not precise or personal).
- Other sites — if you follow a link from this site to another one, that site collects information under its own privacy policy. We don’t share your data with other sites ourselves.
- Comments — if we enable comments on Journal posts, any comment you leave, along with your IP address and browser information, is collected to help with spam detection. If you use Gravatar, an anonymized hash of your email may be checked against Gravatar’s service, and your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside approved comments.
How we use your information
To fulfill orders, respond to inquiries, send order updates, and — only if you’ve opted in — send newsletter content and occasional shop updates.
Sharing your information
We share order information only with the third parties necessary to fulfill it: Printify, which passes your name, delivery address and order contents to the print partner that makes and ships your item (print partners are in the United States and, for some products, other countries); WooPayments (Stripe), which processes payment — and if you choose Klarna, Afterpay, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Amazon Pay, that provider handles your payment and identity checks under its own privacy policy; and shipping carriers, who receive the delivery address. We never see your full card number. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and embedded content
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. The ones this site uses fall into three groups:
- Essential — WooCommerce sets cookies to remember what is in your basket and to keep you signed in through checkout. The site cannot function as a shop without these.
- Analytics — Jetpack Stats sets cookies to measure how the site is used. It sets an analytics cookie when you visit.
- Comment convenience — if you tick the box to save your name, email, and website when commenting, that’s stored in a cookie purely so you don’t have to re-enter those details next time. It lasts one year, and it’s optional, not required in order to comment.
Some pages may include content embedded from other websites, for example a video or a social media post. This embedded content behaves exactly as if you’d visited that other website directly — it may collect data about you, use its own cookies, and track your interaction with it, independently of this site.
How long we keep your data
Order records are kept for as long as tax law requires, then deleted; contact-form messages for 12 months; newsletter data until you unsubscribe. If comments are enabled, approved comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely.
Your rights
You can request to see, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you (except where we are legally required to retain it) by emailing hello@missedmonday.com. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. California residents may ask for details of the personal information we hold and for its deletion using the email above; we do not sell personal information.
Data protection regime
Missed Monday is the data controller for the information described in this policy, and we are based in South Dakota, United States. Personal information you give us is stored by our web host, 20i, who keep routine backups for 7 days, and is accessed by us in the United States.
Where we collect personal information from people in the UK or the European Economic Area, we handle it in line with the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. If you are in the UK you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EEA you have the right to complain to the supervisory authority in your country.
